Zambia's value, America's value.

When I heard the Republic of Zambia, I thought that Where is it?  Honestly, I did not know the country that he talked about.  Then, I researched about the country, and, I knew where it is.

In April 10th, a guest speaker came over whose name is Travis Axton.  He talked about Peace Corp.  The company has sent volunteers to “139 countries” (Perce Corps).  Travis is one of them and went to the Republic of Zambia for three month.  Not only he helped people in Zambia as volunteer, but also, learned about Zambia’s culture.  I bet that it is golden opportunity to learn new things while helping people in the country, and, learning or experiencing new culture is good way to develop you because you will be able to get multiple perspectives after you experience totally new things.

Perce Corps, now, currently has “8,079” (Perce Corps) volunteers and trainees.  Their goal is to help community as much as possible and to teach volunteers what culture is like.  Volunteers help people and learn how to communicate, and have great opportunity to make friends with local population, then, they learn new culture each other.  Thus, volunteers and local people in Zambia can exchange what they know which is very different.

The Republic of Zambia is a country in Africa.  Travis told us what he learned over there.  Of course, he could not explain everything that he learned because he did not have enough time to do that.  He told us one thing that is greeting style of Zambian people.  There are about twenty kinds of greeting about “how you eat” and “how is your health”.  When I listened that, I remembered that I came to the United States at first time because Japanese and American greeting style are different.

Learning new culture is good thing to know.  I encourage people to go to new world where they have never been.
