Since middle of the last century, the word “Globalization” has become popular. Globalization has broad meanings, such as, “increased flow of capital (both financial and human), commodities, and creative ideas around the world” (Burton 125). Today, we can not neglect globalization because the space among countries became very close, and technology made faster information flow among countries. Therefore, our culture became more similar than last century. For example, we can see McDonalds everywhere in the world. Many people in the world have similar sense of value in globalization era. I believe that this change is good because everybody in the world shares similar value. Also, the globalization is an age of diversification. We learn so many style of culture, such as food. Nowadays, everybody knows my country’s traditional food, sushi, in the United States. I like to see and try new things because they give me different perspective. Everything in the world has advantages and disadvantages. Globalization also has disadvantages, such as some large countries take wealth and the culture from small countries. However, I like the idea of globalization.

I like to experience the things that I have never seen and tried because I can compare my common perception and the new things. Then, my common perception may become no more common. It means that I am able to analyze my common perception. Then, I may understand that my common perception is not common in the world. After that, I can see my common perception objectively. I believe that this sense is fundamental in globalization era. I also believe that analyzing my culture is very difficult to achieve unless I see other cultures to compare. It is difficult to remove my fixed idea from my brain. However, after I came to the United States, I have seen and experienced a lot of things that I had never seen in my country. Even though I go back to my country, I hope that I can experience totally new culture over there because of globalization. When I was in my country, Mexican food was not popular, so I had not eaten Mexican food in my country. Now, I love Mexican food. So, that is why I like globalization.

I too enjoy experiencing new things. I appreciate globalization for that. However, I fear that much of globalization has to do with taking advantage of the poor masses.
