We believe that we all have our own frames of lives. Frame has been shaping day by day of your life. And, of course, there is innate frame such as gender, race, family, and so on. So, what is definition of frame? "Frames are mental structures that shape the way we see the world. As a result, they shape the goals we seek, the plans we make, the way we act" (Burton 61). It is hard to recognize what frame you have because the frame is your way to do things. However, I believe that belonging in totally different frame group is the way to figure out your frame.
When I came to Chico, I joined the Christian group but I have no religion. Because I belonged in the Christian meeting, I wanted to know about what they think and to have new types of friends. Then, I realized that I am interested in religion but I can not be a Christian now. After that, I recognized my frame as a non-Christian. Like I came to the United States first time, I think that new experience changes or recognize your frame. Bassie Head who is the author of A question of power was born out of wedlock of South Africa in 1937. She is the child of wealthy white woman and black servant. At that time, marriage between different races was illegal because of the government act. Therefore, she was grown with her foster family, and did not have identification. She said that "I just don't fit in and belong anywhere and I tend to pride myself on not fitting in or belonging" (Burton 63). She claimed that she was frameless. According to Bessie Head,
"As soon as Elizabeth arrived at the mission school, This story is about her biography, Elizabeth as Bessie Head. And, Elizabeth was denied her frame by principal. However, I do not think that she was frameless because she identified herself more than anybody. If she did not have frame, she could not say that she does not fit in anywhere. I strongly believe that the idea is one of her shape.
And, I always think that I would like to have new experience and then change myself to be better.
However, Frame is usually shaped innately, and our center of value or belief would be this frame. According to Burton, "I cannot escape the fact that I was born and raised with a particular set of metaphorical "lenses" through which I have been conditioned to see and interact with the world" (Burton 62). As he said, our nature of value is really hard to change because that is your belief since you were born and it is fact.

she was called to one side by the principal and given
the most astounding information. She said:
'We have a full docket on you. You must be very careful.
Your mother was insane.
If you're not careful you'll get insane just like your mother.
Your mother was a white woman.
They had to lock her up, as she was having a child by the stable boy,
who was a native" (Head 16).
In conclusion, there is no such person who does not have any frame because any person has his/her own back ground and experience. This will become his/her personality and habit. I think that she had struggled to deal with her innate frame instead of she had no frame.
