I agree with you.  I think that we need universal language like English.  You and I are non native English speaker, but we can communicate to use English.  I also think that each language has own trait, so we should not neglect other languages which are so precious.

I think that understanding other culture is very important because you will finally understand how your culture is like to comparing two or more culture.

I as a Japanese agree with you.  I came to the United States to learn English to be able to communicate many kinds of people.  In the United States, not only I have learned English as a language, but also I have learned hot to communicate with people.  Now, I understood that English or other languages are one of the tool like "the language of commerce" to communicate with someone.  I believe that we can communicate without languages.

I really agree with you.  Each language has each trait.  I am Japanese who speaks Japanese and English.  Sometimes, I translate something from English to Japanese or Japanese to English.  But, direct translation does not work because each has own trait.

I think that if everybody in the world use only one universal language, the trait of each culture will decrease or disappear even it makes us mush easier.  I am Japanese and I speak Japanese and English, and I can not imagine that my language will disappear.  Also, each language has own style.  So, when I started to learn English, I could not figure out English style for a long time.  Only one universal language in the world is very convenient for us.  But, we should find the balance between universal language and other languages.  Going to extreme side is not good.

The idea "you are either with us or against us" is very dangerous because there is lack of balance between us and them.  I think that the idea is too extreme as a president of the United States.

Your article is intresting because you use your experience as a mom.  I think that it is very hard to teach kids the balance.  Sometimes, your kid see you as a evil.  But, it is very important your kid to know when and why you are mad.  Then, the kid will learn about balancing.

Now, I have been learning English language.  When I learn new word or phrase, I always use the word anytime and anywhere.  Then, I watch other people's response or reaction to figure out when and how to use that word.  I think that learning things is something like that.

I agree with U.  I think that learning from previous mistakes is very important to people grown up.  Therefore, to regret makes your situation not to improve.  It is sometimes important to regret things.  However, you should also learn things from regression.  For sure.Tongue out
