A Fantastic Day

On April 26th, I went to experience International Festival at Downtown Plaza.  Simply, it was very fantastic to see other culture's foods and music.  I went there around 2 pm, and, first, I saw the band called "Brothers of the Baladi".  I think the band is really nice.  The band played, of course, world music. Honestly, I love that kind of music.  The band has five performers, and, those guys played Guitar, Base, Drums, Bongo and Vocal, and Saz.  I did not know about Saz, so, I asked one of the guys "what instrument is this?"  Then, he said "that is Saz."  They played very nifty music.

After that, I looked around, then, I found so many stores which sold many kinds of ethnic foods.  First, I went to Asian South East Students Association.  Actually, when I went around food booth, I saw a lot of associations which sell food.  I saw In Mien Student Association, Pacific Islanders Connection (PIC), Hmong Student Association, India Cuisine, Pan Africa Students Association, Native American Students Association, Pan Arab Student Association, Asian Cristian Fellowship (ACF), FASO, and so on.  I met some people who I know in ACF booth because I used to join in Asian Cristian Fellowship (ACF).  Then, I met a lot of people in church.  Therefore, I know some  of them who I know.  They sold Sushi.  I was impressed because I am Japanese.  I am glad that they choose Sushi to sell.  They gave me some.  So, I ate it.  The taste is pretty good.  After I said "what is up?" to them, I went to FASO.  They also gave me a spring roll.  That was also yummy!!

I could enjoy being there because I listened nice music, ate yummy foods, and saw a lot of ethnic costumes.  People danced with smile.  I am  glad that I could enjoy multi-cultural experience at small town.  I usually like to experience new things.  I hope the Chico city council will decide to invite the festival again.
